Family Counselling

The same way our internal body automatically seeks homeostasis within itself to keep working efficiently and purposefully, the same way our human body automatically seeks homeostasis within a family system to achieve the same outcomes. Homeostasis is the ability to maintain a relatively stable internal state that persists despite changes in the world outside. And the truth is, the world outside, never seems to stop changing. Families grow, and sometimes the opposite, we lose family members. Families change as we transition from the family we came from to the family we now find we are creating. Sometimes, families integrate, and now all of a sudden there are new dynamics and new relationships overnight. How can one continue feeling the freedom within any family system to continue having their needs met and exercise their authentic self? People often sacrifice their own needs in order to keep an attachment style. How does this affect the overall family dynamics? After all, dynamics are created by a sequence of people reacting to each other. And one behaviour is contingent on another person's behaviour, and behaviour is how we communicate and express our needs which change with development. Our very own nervous system has a huge part in this as well. We can help you de escalate to a more regulated environment where the natural state of homeostasis can be reached inside and outside. Let us uncover together the cues and triggers that lead the body to certain reactions and go back to connection, and support which is what we inherently need.
